Blacksn0w iPhone Unlock is Available for iPhone 3G and 3GS
Blacksn0w iPhone Unlock Now Available for iPhone 3G and 3GS – Blacksn0w iPhone unlock is ready, launching November 4th. George Hotz has released his new carrier unlock for the iPhone 3GS a day early, Blacksn0w is now available to download to your iPhone, so that you can unlock it and use it with any carrier you want.
You’ve probably already checked out the Blackra1n RC2 jailbreaking software that we mentioned a short while back, which is well and good, but if you needed a baseband unlock for your iPhone, you’ll be happy to know that Blacksn0w is just around the corner, which provides a baseband unlock for the 3.1.x iPhone firmware, allowing you to use your iPhone on a GSM carrier of your choice. Blacksn0w will be released on November 4th, so just be patient for a few more days, and we’re sure you’ll be rewarded.
About a week ago, geohot released an update to his iPhone jailbreaking software dubbed Blackra1n RC2, and while that was all well and good for all you AT&T guys, it did leave those of us who need a baseband unlock on our iPieces wanting more. Enter blacksn0w. Demoed on YouTube, the blacksn0w exploit will provide a baseband unlock of the 3.1.x firmware allowing your iPhone to run on your preferred GSM carrier. Blacksn0w will be released to the jailbreaking baseband unlocking masses on November 4th and can be loaded onto your device directly from Blackra1n. Boo ya. We’re curious, how many of you iPhone fanatics rely on a baseband unlock to have a functional iPhone? We’ve got the video all queued up for you after the bounce.
At Noon EST, 5 PM GMT, I will be making it sn0w, and I’m looking to see “#blacksn0w” trending. blacksn0w is the unlock for the latest 05.11.07 baseband, and will also enable official tethering. blackra1n, a jailbreak for 3.1.2, has been updated to RC3, with hacktivation support, 15 second speed improvement, Tiger+PPC support, and installation of the latest blackra1n.app.
In order to use Blacksn0w you will need to first jailbreak your iPhone using Blackra1n, which you can download at the link below.

Once your iPhone is Jailbroken, the blacksn0w icon will appear on your iPhone and you will be able to unlock it.
We haven’t had time to test it as yet, but will be giving it a go later, if any of our readers use it let us know how well it works.
